Reading Technology Signals Without Chasing the Hype

Published 2026-10-03

Technology intelligence fails in two directions: letting noise push you (declaring and funding every hype wave), or ignoring it entirely (reacting only after a rival wins deals with the new tool). The useful stance is between the two — track only the signals that touch your decisions and would change what you do.

Is a signal worth following? Four tests

  • Does it change a real decision in your next twelve months?
  • What supports it — verifiable sourcing, or just a launch event?
  • Which costs more: acting now, or waiting?
  • If it is wrong, is the loss contained?

Our output standard

What we write is dated and sourced, and separates “has happened,” “is happening,” and “might.” We do not chase buzzwords or make unsourced claims. The test is whether a reader can do one specific thing afterwards — not whether they feel more anxious.
